Hope Harbor Shelter

For many years, the club gave financial and other support for women sheltered by the Salvation Army at Hope Harbor in Lodi.

We hosted Christmas Parties for the "Women Helping Women" group, including women from Hope Harbor Shelter for Women and Children.  Each woman received a gift bag and a donation was made for use as needed at the shelter.

Members gathered at the home of Liz Kass to assemble gift bags.

Kettle Kick-off Luncheon

Chardonnay Hall was full of guests, and the chefs that prepared our meal were graduates from the culinary program who all volunteered their service for the day to give back to the organization that has given so much to them. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving meal including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. The Salvation Army’s goal of $75,000 was reached, and half of that was raised by Annette Murdaca so she won first place again as a Celebrity Bell Ringer.
The total goal for the upcoming year’s budget was $225,000 so the funds raised at this lunch provide a full third of the money they have to work with all year for the many wonderful programs they provide our community. If you are available next year, you should attend.
We donated $1.000 of profits to the SIA Club Campaign for third year in a row.
We signed on to raise funds for the Salvation Army by ringing the bell at S-Mart on Lodi Avenue for the past 3 years. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time to do this. Lynn suggested we do a “Coat Drive” to benefit Salvation Army at the same time, so she provided a bin.

SI Lodi generously made donations of $250 to Lodi House in 2009 for their new program entitled “Gram’s Apron Pocket” and $1,000 to Salvation Army Hope Harbor to help out with their expenses during the holiday season. .
We’re spreading the green and that should make us all feel good.
